The Deputy President William Ruto earlier this week invited Members of Parliament in his magnifient Karen home for a breakfast meeting.
Accordint to reports, The deputy president ordered the MPs to pass a report by the Joint Parliamentary Select Committee that bars party hopping or leave Jubilee. William Ruto boldly told the party hopping members to leave the party early or go with the ruling party’s ideologies.
“We are not opposed to party hopping, but what we want is a situation where we can decide to be members of certain political parties based on their ideologies before the parties’ nominations are held,” Ruto said.
According to those who attended the breakfast meeting, those who will vote against the proposed bill could suffer, as the coalition may be forced to issue direct nominations to other candidates in their areas.
Jubilee Mps said that the DP was angered by the fact that they had delayed in passing the report in Parliament.
“No party hopping. We have been ordered to pass the two Bills in their current form without amendments. Going by the DP’s body language, this thing is a live wire. You joke, you get fried,” an MP from Central said.
